4th Annual Holiday Show Dec. 22nd!!!

Yes Ladies and Gents it is once again time for another Slackers Holiday Show Spectacular. This time around we will be hosting the event at the lovely Bowery Ballroom in NYC on Dec. 22nd and please get your tickets early, because once word gets out about this show, people are gonna come running and tickets will not last Believe it or not; this year we are lucky enough to have the incomparable Steve Jackson singer extrordinaire from the Pietaster fame joining us onstage for who knows what kind of shenanigans. And speaking of fame: we topped all expectations and somehow got Alex Desert the golden throat of Hepcat and star of Stage and Screen to grace our little party with his amazing vocal feats.

A Wedding Surprise

So this past weekend we had a special treat. We went to Colorado (a treat in and of itself to be sure) and in addition to great shows in Denver and Colo Springs we played a secret wedding gig. Secret because the groom had no idea we were going to be there. We had to pretend we were playing in Wyoming and hide behind a screen at the reception. The Groom (John) got out of the limo with his new wife (Vanessa) and started freaking when he heard The Slackers playing "cupid". Yes romance was in the air as Glen Pine serenaded them with his dulcet tones and their families cheered their new union. As you are all painfully aware we Slackers are incurable romantics, and I must admit we really love playing weddings.

A Quick Update

Thanks for dropping by to see how we're doing. Just to tell you fine people what we've been up to. So far we have made some real progress on learning up a bunch of new songs for a new album , no predictions on when (spring 08) but I like the material so far, eclectic and classic, something for everyone. Vic and Django are finishing up a new Sic n Mad album as we speak! Django and I are talking about about doing a King Django Sessions album to follow up the Boss Harmony Sessions cd. What do you guys think? Do you like this idea as a series, maybe with some other DJ/producers ? Let me know. I am also compiling footage for a Greatest Hits LIVE DVD from all over the World (again). If you have some cool footage please let me know about it. In addition we are looking at releasing a(nother?) live at Ernesto's, this time on DVD. For those of you who always wanted to see the insanity, this may be your best opportunity.

DVD now available world wide from interpunk.com!

Thats right folks the DVD documentary telling the on and off stage stories of the Slackers and the many years of insanity they have foisted upon music fans throughout the world is now out and available everywhere through Interpunk.com! NYC Holiday show Tickets still available!!!

I've had three calls this morning about tonights show, so here is the info I can gather. There are plenty of tickets available either at the door of the Rebel or at Rocksoff.com. Apparently this place is large enough to accomadate a Slacker Holiday Party , so every one please come down to the show. And stop Calling Me!

As the Haze as of the BBQ coma clears...

I once again post a report on our most recent outing. Once again I am pleased to say I had a great time Down South. First and foremost Big Up to Glen "Hey Buddy" Hackett who was wicked on the kit, from the first beat in a Philly Church basement to the last crash in an Asbury Park bowling alley, a great guy to have on the road, a good (NY) driver, and a riot to boot. And of course never ending respect to DJ Boss Harmony whose deep cuts and keen eye set the perfect vibe for a full Slackers experience. Now what you've all been waiting for the best food of the tour award goes to.... Terrells Barbeque in Gainseville Fla. This place was so good even though we were late and had to get food to go I took one bite of their Briskit and had to go back for more. I ended up getting 3 sandwiches. Everyone else got at least 2. We couldn't stop talking about it for days. Of course Fat Matt's in Atlanta has the killer pulled pork.

My blogs keep getting cut in half

Other highlights for me were a killer show in Vienna, wandering the streets of Prague in search of "real absinthe", Ice cream in MIlano "Aaaaaaaagggghhhh", and 3 English gigs that were amazingly fun (with the Blue Kings, who you should check out). Plus we played a secret gig after the London show at the RED Star bar, very late, very small, very entertaining. At that show, and many others actually, we played a bunch of new songs. This tour was very good for writing and learning new songs for us and I hope you enjoyed being part of the premiering audiences. Don't worry America we'll be there playing these new tunes around our new tour.

Cheers to Europe

Once again we have to thank the thousands of fans across Europe who came out to support us on our most recent run. Once again a fabulous time was had by all. Did any one else notice we were doing a ton of encores? We played 2 almost every night and 3 at least thrice. Kudos to those who scream for more! Personally I had a total blast with the Aggrolites and thought the 4 shows we did together were among the best of the tour, those lucky few (haha) who were there to see any of those shows got one hell of a show. Of course those very few who saw me and Brian Dixon "discussing" politics in the street in front of SO36 in Berlin were treated to a comedy act that only a Socialist and a (log cabin?) Republican could create.

.....And the Winner Is....

Yes finally after much deliberation Judge Glen Pine and I have determined the winner of the Slackers Design Our Merch Contest. Actually it turned out to be winners. Matt McCoy wins first place with his Jamaican flag inspired skull motif and second place goes to Wilson Cumberland for his nautically naughty piratess. Both stellar images will be seen on tour with the Slackers and potentially other outlets. The winners will receive the envy of their peers and the self satisfaction of a job well done, in addition to Slackers related goodies that would make the rest of you drool! Much thanks to the dozens of you that sent in entries most of them were very entertaining ( some disturbing?!), and we really appreciate your taking your time to think about the Slack. Cheers to you All!!!!
