Slackers Pan-Pacific Tour

By dave

So its fall and the Slackers are back on the road again.
We got a lot of gigs coming up between now and the end of the year.
In September, We will be hitting Hawaii for the 1st time, then playing California, Nevada, Colorado, and Utah before winging across the Pacific to Japan.

In October, we are playing the Montreal Ska Fest and playing some east coast gigs in New York and Delaware.

Oct 30 - November 24 will be our European tour for 2013. We are playing the UK, Germany, France, Holland, Belgium, Austria, Spain, Italy, and Switzerland.

In December, we will finish out the year with our holiday show in Brooklyn at the Bell House, and we will also be playing several other east coast shows.

Thanks so much for all the support we received on for our "SUMMER OF BIG TUNES" fundraiser!!! It was really amazing how many of you helped us out. Thanks so much. You really helped the band with getting a whole bunch of new and old music out!

We are done with production for the 45 of My Bed Is a Boat and the limited edition CD-EP already. We are about to start production of the LP-EP and that should be ready in around a month. The Lyrics book will go to printing next week. We are working on the art for the Wasted Days Double LP and DVD and those should get done by mid-october.
We will send those out to supporters as we complete the orders. In the meantime, the download version of My Bed Is A Boat will become available through Big Tunes any day now.

We will have limited amounts of these items at the Slackers' Merch Table as they become available as well.

The Japanese version of the CD-EP is also becoming available next week I believe.

Once again, thanks to everyone for the support! Its been a long journey and we still have a ways to go!

THE SLACKERS SUMMER OF BIG TUNES

By dave

Hi everybody, we have just begun our fundraiser/presale for a whole bunch of new releases. It is on www.bigtun.es, the same people who have been doing Whatevski Records.

We got new vinyl and new cd-ep for MY BED IS A BOAT! These are a bunch of recordings we did with TICKLAH aka Victor Axelrod at his studio in Brooklyn.

We got a repackaging of WASTED DAYS as a double lp. Originally the LP and CD versions of Wasted Days were completely different. Now you can have both on vinyl!

We also got an official Slackers lyrics book, a new live DVD from our recent secret show, custom dubplates, and "the Slackers will record your song." To get more info go to https://bigtun.es/projects/index/7

So gigging wise, we have coming up the Slackers annual NYC booze cruise, a week in New England with a festival in Quebec. We take August off and come back with a big west coast/Japan run in September!

Thanks for the support and see you at the shows.

Hi everyone! Nice to be getting back on the road. We are going to be hitting a bunch of places in the US and Canada first. New england, the southeast, pacific notrhwest, new jersey, and the midwest.

Plus we just went into the studio and have been working towards a new series of releases that should start coming out around june.

Also, the slackers complete lyrics book is coming together and should be out in the next months.

Thanks for the love.

SANDY, THE QUESTION, BRAZIL, and HOLIDAYS...

By dave

First off, we just want to say we hope that everyone weathered the storm as well as they could. Our heart goes out to everyone who has sufferred. The Slackers managed to get through the storm ok, but many people are not. Please donate to the Red Cross to help with disaster relief. http://www.redcross.org/hurricane-sandy

Right before Sandy showed up, we were just annoucing that we are reissuing THE QUESTION on VINYL in partnership with Whatevski/Big Tunes. You can pre-order this at http://bigtun.es/projects/index/1/band Its been out of print for 12 years. We will see what the demand is and then we will know how many copies we can press up.

In other news, we have made it to Brazil and started our tour there. We will be all over the country from Natal in the northeast to Porto Alegre in the south....plus lots of gigs in the Sao Paolo area.

After Brazil, we will be playing a quick encore weekend in Florida, Nov 30 in MIAMI and Dec 2 in ST PETERSBURG. These will be our last shows in Florida for a while so so don't miss.

Then we will spend the rest of December touring the east coast. We have shows in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Long Island, Rhode Island, and finish up the year in BROOKLYN at the Bell house! See you out there!

Fall Touring! Vinyl Reissues! plus Brooklyn Rocksteady Comp coming soon!

By dave

Hi everybody,
How are you doing? First off, I just want to say thanks to everyone who came out to our summer boat shows and to the European Slackers' Strike Back tour. We had a lot of fun playing for you guys this summer.

Coming up this fall, we are trying to get caught up with a lot of American touring. We are playing a quick weekend in the midwest and then going down south to Florida, Louisiana, and Texas.

We also want to thank everyone who supported the Asbestos Records Kickstarter for the vinyl of International War Criminal (2004 original release). This will be the first time that those recordings will be released on Vinyl. We should have some with us on tour in the next month or so.

You heard it here first. But there should be a vinyl re-issue of the Question out by end of the year too! This will be coming out on Whatevski records! (Yes, the same www.whatevski.org who puts out lots of Slackers' downloads.)

Also coming out soon is the 'Brooklyn Rocksteady' compilation which will feature the Slackers' playing a version of the reggae classic, 'The Wicked Must Survive.' This will available in various formats on www.whatevski.org as well.

And yes, I know we have been doing lots of covers recently, but if you have come to one of our shows recently, you might have heard one of the new original songs we have been working on. We currently have 3 of them in rotation in the set list and there should be more to come over the next few months.

Another upcoming project that I was just reading the rough draft of, is a Slackers lyrics book. This book is going to be available in paperback, hard cover, and electronic formats.

Finally, yes, we have been getting your emails from the places we have been missing on tour. We will be trying to get out to the southeast, midwest, pacific northwest, and Canada in the first half of 2013. Keep your eyes out for upcoming dates.

take care,
Dave
