2009 Boat Show Recording Available and more new recordings to come

2009 Boat Show Recording Available and more new recordings to come

By dave

Hi,

so im happy to announce that we have a new recording available for download. Its of our most recent boat show in nyc, and it features guest performances by Happy of Sic n Mad and other friends.

Hopefully, this will be the first of several live recordings that will become available through www.whatevski.org. They have liner notes and everything. Check it out. If you want to hear what we've been doing lately or if you were at the boat show and want a souveneir.

In addition, to keep everyone up to date on the new Slackers stuff that we've been trying to finish.

Well, its not exactly "new", but it has been unfinished.

Over the years, we have recorded a lot of tracks that have never been released.
So the "Lost & Found" project (our working title) is gonna include tracks from 1998 to 2007 that never saw the light of day.

Some tracks are gonna be originals like "Two Blues in 1" or "I dont wanna go" or "See You in My Dreams" that never made it onto a cd. Anybody heard of these?

Others are gonna be alternate versions of older songs like a ska version of "Watch This" and a reggae version of "Two Face." Others are some of our covers like "We Can Work It Out" or "Cupid" that never had a studio release.

Some are rhythms that didnt even have a proper name until we added vocals and horns and such things. Finished them out.

So its gonna be a fun, diverse album with a lot of variety in musical styles. Right now we are working on around 20 tracks which are being considered for being included.

And yes...we are working on new songs that we are planning on recording this fall for a new originals album that will come out sometime next year. These are some of the songs like "Anastasia" and "Be Nice to Daddy" that we have been playing here and there at our recent live shows. I think one of those ended up on the boat show.

So that's the latest. Will let you know as these projects progress.

P.S. Kumi just redid our www.theslackers.com site and it looks very cool.
If you poke around on it, under "playlists" you will see this thing called "influences." This is a playlist of songs that I put together that inspired me in the writing of a bunch of different slackers' songs. check em out.

The only website, besides

The only website, besides stubborn.com which has a limited selection, I have found that carry's Slack clothing, is www.backstreet-merch.com. It is bloody expensive as it is in British pounds. If anybody else knows where to get online clothing let me know; I really want that NYC SKA hoodie. Peace.William from ccna exam school.

the cruise download

can't stop playing this! $5 for 25 trcks....giving it away!
cheers uys.
