Brooklyn setlist/show review2-15-08 Luna Lounge - Brooklyn, NYC Face in My Crowd Encore: * This was a new song, that I believe they said is called Addiction. Not the same song as the Skinnerbox song Addiction. Drove up from Philly for the show. We were told the drive could take 4 hours due to traffic, but it only took an even 2. We got to the venue at 6:30, the doors weren't open yet and the sign outside the place said the Slackers were going on at 10:30. We were definitely the first people there, unfortunately none of the relevant websites said anything about an opening band so we thought they were going on earlier. So we took the opportunity to walk around scenic Williamsburg. The Luna Lounge is pretty large, and the place was pretty packed by the time the Slackers went on at around 11, so that was awesome. Overall it was definitely a great place for a Slackers show. Looking back at the setlist, it looks better on paper than I remember it at the time, the show and song choices kind of felt uneven to me. For example, the 2 songs from Close my Eyes that they played, Shankbon and I'll Stay Away. There are so many other songs on that album that I would love to hear live over those two, like Axes, Bin Waitin, Close My Eyes, Don't Wanna Go. Also the encore - I daydream about more variety in Slackers' encores. But maybe thats just me. The energy was there though, and there were several highlights - a great version of The Question with glen on the shooby-dooby-doos, the awesome new song You Don't Want Your Man Anymore, playing Wasted Days by request, Jay's solo on You Must Be Good (i think it was that song) when vic said I'm not taking another organ solo, someone else play, and jay stepped to the front of the stage. I did think the holiday show at the Bowery was more consistently awesome (despite the guests coming on and off the stage). Overall I'd give this show a solid B.

Addiction
Could what you call "Addiction" probably be "Self-Medication"?

(when did they make usernames disappear?)
He's probably talking about "Eviction"
Here's a vid of the song

And here's the tracklisting (supposedly) of the new album:
1. Everyday is Sunday
2. Don't You Want a Man
3. Don't Forget the Streets
4. Estranged
5. Stars
6. Leave Me
7. Eviction
8. Happy Song
9. Self-Medication
10. Don't Have To
11. Walking with Myself
12. Sing Your Song
Self Medication on vinyl?
will there be a vinyl version of the new album?
anyone have any info on that?
the pietasters' last album was cd only on their own indication records.
and boss harmony sessions was cd only on both special potato and rockers revolt.
so the chances don't look so good for vinyl lovers.
Vinyl or Piracy
I own a record player but no CD player. So it's vinyl or piracy for me ;o) So I'd definetly buy the LP!
or...
you could buy the songs online - they will prob be distributed in some online store.
