I've Been a Bad, Bad Slackmaster

I don't think that I've every actually introduced myself on this site, but since 2005 I have been one of the webmasters here at theslackers.com. Kumie is the other one. For some reason, my email address has been on the fritz, so I have been really slow at adding new accounts.

If you have signed up for an account and it has not yet been activated, please forward the welcome email to lantzilla (((AT))) theslackers (((DOT))) com, and we'll take care of it as soon as possible.

If you have not yet created an account, do the following things to ensure that you are activated quickly:

  1. Sign up for an acccount
  2. Don't use a name that sounds randomly generated, like NNKMMKMKhhfkl. It helps me separate the wheat from the chaff.
  3. After you get the welcome email, forward it to lantzilla (((AT))) theslackers (((DOT))) com, including the name of your favorite Slackers album.

Sorry it's such a pain in the ass, but we used to have it so that you didn't have to register, but we got totally hammered with spam. We'd much rather talk about shows and albums than penis enlargement and replica watches– as intriguing as that sounds...

Also, Kumie and I are in the process of a site redesign, so you don't have to keep staring at the same page over and over again. We are hoping to have Album, Song and Lyric pages integrated soon. We could probably use some editorial help. Any takers? Typing up lyrics, etc. Send an email to the above email address, and put "NOTROBOT:" in the subject line, so that I actually pay attention to it.

Together, we will slay every last robot.

My recommendations

This site's drupal-based, right? Aren't there any anti-spam plugins for drupal?

As for the lyrics: Harness the power of the wiki ;o) Set up a lyrics wiki and let the users create the content that way. Then nominate some moderators that look at the submissions to avoid abuse. People on the net love to work for others free of charge ("Look, I'm a MODERATOR!") :D
