A quick updateThanks for dropping by to see how we're doing. Just to tell you fine people what we've been up to. So far we have made some real progress on learning up a bunch of new songs for a new album , no predictions on when (spring 08) but I like the material so far, eclectic and classic, something for everyone. Vic and Django are finishing up a new Sic n Mad album as we speak! Django and I are talking about about doing a King Django Sessions album to follow up the Boss Harmony Sessions cd. What do you guys think? Do you like this idea as a series, maybe with some other DJ/producers ? Let me know. I am also compiling footage for a Greatest Hits LIVE DVD from all over the World (again). If you have some cool footage please let me know about it. In addition we are looking at releasing a(nother?) live at Ernesto's, this time on DVD. For those of you who always wanted to see the insanity, this may be your best opportunity.

DIAW Sessions?
get Dave, Larry, Buford, Maria (?) (that girl can wail on the sax) and crew up in the mix on a full CD -- that would be a sweet collaboration.
Django? sure. Victor Rice? YES!
A collabo with Django would be amazing...Marcus - maybe bring back the old school production team aka a Ricey session? : D There is something about what that man does to a recording that is beyond memorable. maybe he can do the strikkly vikkly dub sessions?
As for the recording -- I wish I would have brought the HD camera to Funk N' Waffles in Syracuse, NY when we taped you guys on DAT this past week -- the recording sounds amazing (thanks for letting us do that, Dave.)
We could have all been loving the slackers live in 1080i HD by now! aw well...next time!
Is there already a LIVE DVD in existence?
video/DVD
I don't know how to contact you, but I wanna let you know I have some cool vids (shot in 2006 in Le Havre, France). Good quality (dv format, 16 bit/ 48kHz).

"The Question" on vinyl...
Does anybody perhaps need some extra cash and have a copy of "The Question" on vinyl that they would be willing to part with? I would make you a most fair offer to say the least. I have tried eBay, Jammyland, and everywhere in between but have come up short. If anyone is interested in selling or trading their copy for something, drop me a line at fattyackin@yahoo.com. Thanks,
cory p
go for it !
my copy of "boss harmony sessions" haven't arived yet, but "king django sessions" sounds like a great idea, please start working on that a.s.a.p.
and the sooner you finish that project the sooner you can start working on "victor rice sessions" ...
what happened to the slackers book ?
Django!
Big yes on the Django idea -- he's a great producer, and the very idea brings a surge of late-'90s Version City nostalgia. Would he put in some guest vocals, perhaps? Even after all the work you've done with each other over the years, there still aren't enough Slackers/Django collaborations.
And a week in Texas -- hot damn! Two nights at the Flamingo in Austin, I hope? Last time y'all came to town Vic did a great solo show, maybe we'll get a repeat of that if we're lucky ...
Awesome
Bring on the Slackness! I'm really diggin the Boss Harmony CD, so it would be pretty cool to see that turn into a series. And as a suggestion, maybe you could combine those two DVDs into one double-disc package (Ernesto's on one disc, Greatest Hits Live on the other). Either way, I'm looking forward to them.
you might be on to something...
Hey CaptnRudie the double-disc live dvd might be a good idea. And to also throw my hand in the pot, I too think the idea of a "sessions" type series would be quite stellar. One of the most endearing traits of The Slackers to me is the plethora of music that the band puts out. The Pietasters just released their 1st album in 5 YEARS!?! First off, let me say that I have nothing against the Pietasters, I think they are a great band and also cool-ass guys. I also know that putting out records is not exactly baking cookies. You sometimes have to deal with lineup changes, label changes, distribution rights, or hell, in the case of the hard-ass touring Slackers, simply finding time to make a new album. When The Slackers put out a studio album proper, it always has a certain feel to it. Be it the artwork, tone, production style, lyrical content, etc.-it always has something to say. The cool thing about the live albums, eps, "Slackers and Friends", or "..Sessions.." records is that it quinches the thirst of the fan while another serious record is being put together, not to mention adding more depth and insight into what mode the band might have been in at that particular time. So to that end I say Fuck Yes please keep the "sessions" albums coming (because we all know you guys have outtakes and covers aplenty that didn't make it to albums), keep the live albums coming (ever thought of releasing entire soundboarded shows on Snocap?), please keep the dub records coming (good dub is like oxygen to an asthmatic, never enough of it), and please keep the side projects coming (We all know and love, DH&TR7, Vic, Sic&Mad, but Marcus where is the solo project you and I joked about in Orlando?)

-Other than the King Django sessions,
Also cool would be "The Glen Adams Sessions", "The Alex Desert Sessions", "The Larry MacDonald Sessions", "The Vic Rice Sessions", or hell, maybe even "The Tim Armstrong Sessions".
pss- maybe an official release of either an in studio acoustic performance or live acoustic performance. Hmmm...
Yeah
I agree, the "Sessions" albums would be great for putting all your cover songs onto disc, and re-working your older and more obscure tracks. I was listening to the early two-tone Slackers songs on skablahblah.com, and thought "these would be amazing in the Slackers more current style". Also, there were a couple things I loved on the documentary DVD, like when Vic and Glen are playing an acoustic version of "What Went Wrong", and when the band breaks into a reggae version of "Come Back Baby" after the credits. These are all things I'd love to see on more "Sessions" albums.
oh I almost forgot
Hey I almost forgot two possible collaborators for "Sessions" mixes. They are both Ghosts of Slackers' Past but might fit for a random release: How about either "The Q-Maxx 420 Sessions" or "The DJ Mush-One Sessions"?
Jesus, I could think of these forever...
