I like it. Radically different, but still cool. I miss a some Vic vocals though, but that's my preference :)

Man...thanks alot, especially for your comment on my own stuff!
I can't wait to publish my new album and see what the people feel...this new one will be different from "sees america" as it was different from my first album called "That's it"...i think it's normal to change something during the "journey", i got a new band, new sound, new songs...i like it!...ah ah...I'm mixing and dubbing right now and i hope to can put in a few days some samplers of the new songs...i'll keep you update!

my honest opinion....

it sounds great!....but if what i believe is correct then the point was to "remix" a slackers song....but leave it a slackers song.

You took the song and remixed it so much and added here and there and even implemented your own lyrics and now it doesnt sound like a slackers song...it sounds like a Mr.T-Bone song ripping off the slackers. But please don't get me wrong im not bashing you or anything, the tune is great, but its no longer a slackers tune.

first of all thank you very much for your opinion, i'm glad you like the song anyway!
I think is just a different point of view...when i first saw the contest rules i was agree with you, i thought was just a remix or a dub version...then once i got the files i understood better the meaning (i think..ah ah)...there was just ritmic session and backing vocals...so i decided to sing a new line and play a trombone solo...this is the final result!!
Anyway, once again thanks for your personal opinion and is enough for me to know that you like this "very personal version"!

jamacian musical tradition

tylau,
it is jamacian musical tradition to do stuff like this. almost their whole recording industy from 60's until today it's done this way. either you do a version, dub or do a song on a riddim, you always do the same: take someone else's work and make it you own. nothing wrong with that. that's what it's all about.
