As the Haze as of the BBQ coma clears...

I once again post a report on our most recent outing. Once again I am pleased to say I had a great time Down South. First and foremost Big Up to Glen "Hey Buddy" Hackett who was wicked on the kit, from the first beat in a Philly Church basement to the last crash in an Asbury Park bowling alley, a great guy to have on the road, a good (NY) driver, and a riot to boot. And of course never ending respect to DJ Boss Harmony whose deep cuts and keen eye set the perfect vibe for a full Slackers experience. Now what you've all been waiting for the best food of the tour award goes to.... Terrells Barbeque in Gainseville Fla. This place was so good even though we were late and had to get food to go I took one bite of their Briskit and had to go back for more. I ended up getting 3 sandwiches. Everyone else got at least 2. We couldn't stop talking about it for days. Of course Fat Matt's in Atlanta has the killer pulled pork.

And now the shows!!!! Philly was mad! Boss Harmony spinning wicked deep reggae and projecting "the 5 deadly Venoms", ie Marcus Heaven! Then Richmond Va. was one of the best shows of the tour plus surprising good pizza at Alley Katz. Then I always love Savanah good show great architecture. Then Florida!? unusually good food and great shows at Churchills and the Social that is not so unusual, one of those shows was the best audience but Solomon couldn't make that choice. In Tampa an actual NURSE came on stage to help revive "Disco Dave." IN case you wondered. Yes, sometimes the antics on stage are so funny we can barely play, and there have been a few times when people have collapsed on stage in a fit of laughter. Great show in Atlanta at the Earl during "Wasted days" several couples started dancing together and ended up making out. After the show three couples asked me if we play weddings, so with a little luck we will be back in Georgia next October to unite half a dozen people in Holy Slacktimony. In Wilmington SC Daves friend got Birthday Drunk and Dave got a Bari sax, I hope to see the latter on a new record. In Virginia Beach the Jackmoves extended unreal hospitality and the full moon over the beach was gorgeous.

We were having a blast playing some new tunes and some new arrangements to old tunes, I was really glad to hear such positive response to "Everyday is Sunday" and the reworked funky/reggae "Wasted Days" from so many people both during and after the shows. Slacker fans Rock! You guys are the best in the World! Now Go forth and Multiply!

I thought I left a comment earlier...

It must have poofed.

I had the best time seeing you guys in Chapel Hill on this tour. I was really excited when I heard you were coming, because I was recently transplanted down south from Jersey and I didn't think there would be any good shows. Hope to see you down here again.

~Marie

PS - Slacktimony is an awesome word. I think I wanna start using it in conversation.
