The Slackers

It's been 10 years since we put out our 2nd cd, "Red Light." In honor of the 10th anniversary of Red Light we are having a remix contest. We are making the original studio tracks of selected songs available for download from this site; however, due to limited bandwidth, we might have to take them down if the site gets pounded. We're kind of flying by the seat of our pants and making it up as we go along. So, please bear with us. The original, unedited, raw tracks are downloadable and available for dubbing, mashing, remixing - whatever one desires!

In fact, we'd appreciate it if some of you guys and gals put this up on bit torrent. That would be swell and would allow for us to take it off the website to make room for more songs.

By downloading the tracks, you are agreeing to the creative commons terms. All content on this site is being released under the license "Attribution-NonCommercial". Here's what it all means in plain english:

Top ten winners will win free slackers concert tickets, merchandise, and have the possibility of being included on a future slackers release! As of right now, the contest will end at the end of August (Red Light was released in September of 1997).

We just uploaded another new song onto the snocap player. This tune,"Robots", is by Vic and seems to be one of rants about the dystopian shape of the world. I think that's what its about? He never tells me. When I ask him, he just laughs and doesnt give me a straight answer.

Its wouldn't be summer without a Slacker boat cruise in New York City. Come on down and check out the phenomenon in person! I think it will be our 4th year on the boat? So June 16th is the date. The place to get tickets is www.rocksoff.com.

Thanks to everyone for the support in our last 2 months of shows! The japanese tour was great and it was amazing to get into Korea for the 1st time. I want to give props to Kingston Rudieska, a really good trad style band from Seoul, Korea.

Plus the hometown crowd at the hook was awesome! It feels good to have finally packed that place out!

Hi, just wanted to let all japanese fans know that the first tokyo gig on the 21st is sold out. There are still tickets for the 2nd gig.
As for Vic, his flight was delayed by a snowstorm so he's not going to be able to make his solo gig but he's gonna try to make the instores on the 19th and 20th.
